Pea straw is ideal as bedding in pigeon lofts or poultry houses or for nest building. It forms a permeable cover so that fine dirt collects under the straw and there is less dust turbulence. The branched structure of the pea straw ensures that dirt is not whirled up directly when the wings flap. It also has very good moisture-absorbing properties, which keeps the loft or stable dry.
