Straight feeding stuff for pigeons and ornamental poultry
are fire-dried and bacteria-free.
They serve the animals in the gizzard as a tooth replacement, i.e. as a crushing aid for the food.
Without stomach stones, the food is digested much more poorly by the animals.
The stomach stones are not dissolved by stomach acid and therefore last longer than calcium grit.
Feeding recommendation:
The stomach stones should be made freely available to the animals in a separate bowl.
If the free-range area or aviary is limited, the stones can also be scattered in the free-range area to encourage natural scratching and searching for minerals.
